Wentworth’s Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering program balances theory, simulation, and laboratory exercises, giving students the advanced skills and knowledge needed to model, analyze, design, and realize physical systems, components, and processes. Students are expected to enter the program having obtained a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering.
The program is designed with flexibility in mind. Students may enroll full or part-time and take coursework in-person or synchronously online as needed. Students may also opt for the thesis or non-thesis (master project) track.
Most classes are designed to accommodate working professionals.
Wentworth has state-of-the-art facilities for our students to access. Including separate labs for Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Materials Science, Additive Manufacturing, Manufacturing, Fluids, and a general project laboratory.
Wentworth’s Mechanical Engineering program has a federal STEM designation, which provides a potential 24-month Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension for international students studying on an F-1 visa, allowing students to work for a total of three years in the United States upon graduation.
